Shot blasting

Corrosion is the interaction between metals and the environment which leads to a progressive aesthetic and functional decay.

Any metal object exposed to weather agents develops a conductive electrolyte (ex: water, oxygen, salt) on its own surface that can generate electrochemical reactions often leading to corrosion.

In order to optimize any item’s resistance to corrosion, we carry out C5 anti-corrosion cycles on every iron or galvanized steel item, that is intended for an outdoor use, as per QUALICOAT’s specifications, through our shot blasting process.

Shot blasting is a surface preparation technique that involves rapidly impacting the surface of an object with a controlled stream of abrasive shot material at a high velocity.

Our blasting service can also remove scale, rust or any previous coating of powder or paint from any item to provide a clean surface for new paint or powder adhesion.

We highly recommend to always apply our ZeroZinc Antigassing Prime to any galavanized steel substrate, even when previously shot blasted, in order to avoid any possible undesirable consequence of the degassing of galvanizing and extend so the aesthetic durability of the product.

Our shot blasting booth can accommodate large scale items up to L 7000 x D 4000 x H 3500 mm
